“But we don′t need meat!”

Vegans claim that the human body can do very well without meat, and so we should not eat it.

The first part of this claim being correct, the second part is pure nonsense. Yes, it is true, we can do without meat, but we can do completely without food made of plants as well,1 so what?

Also, the conclusion that somebody must avoid something just because it can be avoided is nonsense. Maybe we don′t need meat, but in the end, what do we need then? We can also successfully avoid computers, clothes, motorcraft, you name it. Has anybody ever seen a vegan abstain from the internet or transportation? Obviously not, altough Western world industry does a great deal of damage to our environment, exploits people in poor countries, et cetera.

Finally, the veggies say that we can do without meat, which is correct, but we cannot do without food from animal sources unless using supplements.

Do we need vegans?
