“Meat Is Murder”

Maybe one of the best known vegan catchphrases is the infamous “meat is murder”-slogan, suggesting that eating meat is something extraordinary, immoral or even criminal.

The flaw of this way of thinking is the misunderstanding of the concept of crime: A crime is something prohibited by law and law enforcement because otherwise human society would cease to function. If murder would be acceptable, if it would have no bad consequences for you to kill anybody for whatever reason, this would be the end for our society.1

Eating meat on the contrary never causes or caused this problems, so billions of sentient beings do this, be they animal or human, since billions of years, without any trouble, where the killing of peoplejust think about wars or genocidedoes usually not go untroubled.

next: “Meat is unhealthy!”
previous: “I don′t eat my friends!”
