As every veggie will tell you, only animal based food can be a health hazard, be it the bird, or the swine flue. But now salad is the most likely cause for several cases of death in Germany, and now you could argue that, yes, it was the salad, but it was contaminated by manure, which is from animals, with the inevitable reply that this is exactly what vegans propagate to get B12 despite lack of animal food, for only certain intestine based bacteria actually produce this vital vitamin…
It′s a useless discussion.
It is not the choice of diet, it is a matter of hygiene, and if you don′t do this, it really doesn′t matter if you have chicken, salad or mineral water for breakfast, a lack of hygiene is a lack of hygiene, and even if this is taken care of, mishaps still can happen.
So I′d really wish the discussion about all this would be of a li′l less an ideological and more a practical nature, for contamination with bacteria is always an issue, no matter if the food comes from plants or from animals.
