2011-03-31, animal lover beats dog―with a club

Ottumwa-Courier, where a woman, who is known to be a critic of the city′s animal policies, faces charges
The video, given to police by a citizen, shows Stanbridge beating a dog with a club, hitting it at least 15 times, Clark said. It appeared the incident started because the dog was digging in the yard, he added.
And:
“I don′t understand how she could be so concerned about saving animals that are strays, yet turn around and treat the ones she has the way she did on the video,” Clark [Ottumwa police chief officer]said.
I do. Because with such people, it′s never about the animals, it′s always about themselves. As long as I can ostentatiously sacrifice my life for the good of the animals™, I am the good guy. But if a woofie dares to dig a hole in my garden… Let′s beat the shit out of the bastard!
