2009-06-29, VgT, another house search

Earlier this month, another house search was performed at the place of leading figures of the Link:VgT-Österreich, an Austrian animal rights organisation.

This organisation is suspected to have coordinated animal rights terror attacks targeted mainly against owners and employees of Link:Kleiderbauer, an Austrian corporation that sells clothes and has a number of stores in the country. The acts of terror include attacks with butyric acid,1 demolition of cars,2 and several other incidents, Austrian newspapers3 speak of blackmailing and firearm shots targeted at Kleiderbauer-shops.

Some time ago, and after lengthy investigations, the leading heads of the VgT-Austria were imprisoned on remand for about 100 days, and since then, from time to time appearantly, houses searches are performed.

Interestingly, since the imprisonment on remand of the leading figures of this organisations, it has been reported several times that further acts of animal rights related terror literally dropped to zero.4 It is obvious that it is very likely that the heads behind all this have to keep a low profile to prevent the whole thing from blowing, however, the animal rights activists of course claim that they are completely innocent and that all accusations are false.

They never distanced themselves from violence.

… In a democratic society, violence is no valid form of giving an opinion. If vegans fail to convince people with arguments, the reason may be that their arguments are simply wrong. Smashing shop-windows and wrecking cars doesn′t change that. If they fail to understand that, they will face the consequences further on.
